Darby:But if the Spirit of him that has raised up Jesus from among the dead dwell in you, he that has raised up Christ from among the dead shall quicken your mortal bodies also on account of his Spirit which dwells in you.
ESV:If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
ISV:And if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, then the one who raised Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive by his Spirit who lives in you.
I am curious to get your guys' perspective on this passage as it relates to the "also" and its implications, as well to the making of "mortal bodies alive."

Sounds to me like the Spirit will make our perishable/mortal bodies imperishable/immortal just as it did with Christ.

So clearly the lifeless remains of the bodies of the righteous dead are not re-animated.They are to recieve brand new bodies from Jehovah in the resurrection.The real problem here for some is not with the word 'also'.Its the possessive.Some are of the opinion that for it to be truly said that the bodies that they now possess in this life are made alive.Then the same material that constituted the body at death must be re-assembled.However the material that constitute our bodies is constantly being changed.Every year or so we all receive an entirely brand new body.yet we never think of it as a new or different body.Probably because it doesn't feel new.The point is we continue to think of our bodies as being the ones we were born with throughout our lifetime even though the fact is we've been through dozens of bodies.Similarly the fact that the body that Christ received upon being resurrected was constituted of different material to the remains of the one he died in does not make it any less his body.And likewise the fact that all the resurrected will receive bodies not made of material from the remains of their previous bodies,does not make these resurrected bodies any less their bodies.
